Your writing in Gentle Men provides a unique and touching exploration of male vulnerability, especially when you mention, “We were all torn asunder from the worlds we knew inside and out.” The blend of speculative fiction with real emotional depth defies stereotypes and invites readers to empathise with misunderstood characters. It is a beautifully reflective piece.

"I also write nonfiction about these beings:" I loved this exploration into discovering one's identity. You nailed young men for certain. Bravo.

"These beings" -- what a great line for the times we live in.

David, I know you subscribe to many other Substacks. I want to thank you for all those "likes" and let you know that I do read Substackers who comment--and come back to all who write a comment, thus, building actual connection--not so easy here. All best, Mary
