This is the only stack my 4-legged friend likes to read…well, besides Rat Says but Mars has a unique sense of humour. He finds politics boring and social issues just so much fluff and snuff with no teeth.
Problem is, there’s just no living with him once he’s read your posts. His condescending attitide and sanctimonious strut carries on for the rest of the day. Once he’s climbed down from his pedestal (yes,I admit I made him one) he’s back to his loving and carefree self.
As Mark Twain is reputed to have said: "The more I learn about people, the more I love my dog."
For those of us who admire, respect and value other creatures, particularly dogs, there are many charities which do much that Cerberus, I'm sure, would find commendable. So, if on International Dog Day you wish to offer more than good wishes and can afford to do so, perhaps you could donate to one of them.
Here are some examples, Australian because that's where I am right now. However, many of these are international and you will readily find them if you search without the "/au". You could also simply search for "dog charities" and your browser will likely bring up appropriate links to your local organisations:
There are, of course, many more. Seedling Giving has references to over 50,000 animal welfare charities with information that will allow you to determine if the charity is ethical and suits the sort of help or welfare you would most prefer to give.
Charity Navigator - https://www.charitynavigator.org/ is another organisation that vets and rates charity performance, ethics, % $ spent on admin / practical help / etc. A great organisation to get behind if you want to be sure that your limited funds are used in the most effective way possible. Note that Charity Navigator assesses charities across many fields, not just animal welfare and that it is a not for profit organisation which itself depends on donations.
Finally, to all who care for other species and particular the wonderful 'humans best friend', my good wishes and appreciation, as well as to David for his post. I wish you and all dogs the best of health and well-being and an absence from hardship and cruelty.
Speaking from my personal although ultimately limited experience, I can honestly say that dogs are the best people that I know. Thanks for sharing.
Arf!
He is a good doggo :D
SHE will resent you misgendering her, but, yes, you are right.
Well said!
Every day is dog day around here! 🐕❤️🎉
Well said, Cerberus! Here's to a future where humans and dogs live in greater harmony!

Now…to get him to stay on his own pillow…
Sheesh he’s worse than a spouse at times!
I believe this is me:
"There are also those among you who are extremely kind to us, more than you are to yourself."
We can never give too much homage to dogs. They are heroes :) and they deserve a few days each year to be recognized!
As a person who was mauled by a dog as a child, I wholeheartedly agree with every statement....[[|:-)
Confession: I bought my grand dog a sports jacket once. He loved it.
I've promised my Toby that I won't subject him to his football jersey until the playoffs.

Man's best friend.
Additional request to indict Kirsty Noem for crimes against dogmanity...:P
I think it all starts with this:
Give us credit for the intelligence we have always possessed
From that respect, so many good things will happen.
David, as usual your imagination is off the charts!

For anyone who doesn't believe there is a G-d, just get a dog. They are heaven sent.
